Movie Night at Center for Spiritual Living Prescott will screen "My Greatest Teacher" at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.

"My Greatest Teacher," from bestselling author and spiritual guru Wayne W. Dyer, follows one man's journey to find understanding and reconciliation with his past. Despite having a loving family and a fulfilling career as a university professor, Ryan Kilgore has always held deep resentment and anger toward the father who abandoned him when he was born. When these emotions take their toll on his marriage - and his relationship with his own son - Ryan realizes he must confront these unhealed wounds. He embarks on a search to track down his father, Big Bob.

"Wake Up Laughing" with Swami Beyondananda at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Center for Spiritual Living.

Swami Beyondananda espouses a new non-religion called "FUNdamentalism" (accent on "fun"). If you love to laugh - or need to - don't miss the chance to get struck by "enlightening" and laugh until the sacred cows come home.

The swami's slightly more serious alter ego, Steve Bhaerman, will conduct a workshop, "Situational Comedy for the Non-Comedian," at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Learn how to lovingly laugh in the face of challenges and find new resourcefulness and flexibility, along with ways to commit random acts of comedy that bring people together, release tension and offer new creative pathways.

Chino Valley United Methodist Church invites all interested singers to participate in an ecumenical Christmas program. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 E. Road One South. The Christmas program is set for 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

This program, jointly sponsored by CVUMC, St. Catherine LaBoure Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been an ongoing effort for the past 15-plus years.

Faith United Church of Christ presents a community resource fair from 9:20 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 14. Presentations include RN Janice Mauz from Aging Well Prescott on "How to Be Your Best Advocate" at 10:30 a.m. and the Virtual Dementia Tour, dubbed "Your Window into Their World." Its motto is "Until there's a cure, take the tour." Tours are scheduled every 15 minutes. Also, visit with exhibitors from 9:30 to 10:30.

Faith United Community Church will have a craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. More than 35 vendors will be on hand with craft and gift items, sewn goods, homemade breads, jams, hats, wood products, jewelry, yard art, décor, leather goods, T-shirts, fresh produce and more. Prescott Seventh Day Adventist Church will be offering plant based cooking classes through Oct. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Classes include a cookbook entitled "Give Them Something Better" meal samples, cooking demonstrations and health talks. St Catherine Labouré Catholic Church, 2062 N. Highway 89 in Chino Valley, ladies' guild present their annual Christmas Bazaar where a network of local craftsman will display their wares. Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Home baked goods and lunch items also will be available. Raffles and giveaways throughout this two-day event. Picture taking with Santa all day Saturday.

Trinity Lutheran Women's Missionary League is sponsoring its eighth annual Holiday Craft Show and Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 7. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Trinity Hall in the God's World Building, 3950 N. Valorie Drive in Prescott Valley.

The public is invited to come and shop for "Made in the USA" crafts and home-baked goods. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be for sale at lunch.

Community Bible Study (a non-denominational in-depth Bible Study available to all) will be hosting their Women's Study for 2015/2016 at Hillside Community Church, 937 Ruth St., across from Prescott Senior High School. The group will meet from through May 4, 2016.The topic will be "From the Red Sea to the Jordan," (Exodus through Numbers). This year, ladies will wander with the Hebrews as they move from salvation into service and from deliverance into dedication. All ladies are welcome. The Anglian Church of the Holy Spirit announces they have moved to a new location. They are now meeting in the fellowship hall at the Prescott Valley United Methodist Church, 8944 E. Sommer Drive, Prescott Valley.

Sunday worship is at 9 a.m., featuring a Holy Communion service with music and using contemporary language. They have an active healing ministry, as well as regular study groups. They are a warm, loving Christian family and welcome visitors and new members.

All Saints Anglican Church of Prescott started a service of Morning Prayer each weekday morning at 8 a.m., meeting in the chapel, 1806 N. Savage Lane, Prescott. The service is taken from the Book of Common Prayer (1928). The service is geared for those who desire a more disciplined spiritual life, to gather to pray, to confess our sins, to hear Holy Scriptures read aloud, and to pray for others. The service has been done in English since 1549 in a variety of Books of Common Prayer, and has been a part of the spiritual life of Anglican Christians as long. Faith in Fitness classes take place Tuesdays at noon and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church Prescott Valley, 2820 Pleasant View Drive. Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost a child at any age or however long ago, meets the second Tuesday of each month at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St. Pastor Carol Mumford leads the group, and any community member who has lost a child may attend. This is just one of the support groups that meets each month at PUMC. Other groups offer support for those with health issues such as breathing problems, cancer, depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue.
