Military: Dr. Gary W. Troutman DDS

Dr. Gary W. Troutman DDS, a retired captain and Navy dentist, was awarded the Military Order of the Purple Heart Distinguished Service Award. Troutman, with his wife, Jackie, has lived in Prescott for over 13 years. Eight of his 30 years in the Navy were served on the faculty of the Navy Postgraduate Dental School and as director of the General Practice Residency Program at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Until his recent retirement, he was the senior staff dentist at the Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.

Troutman was also presented with the Warrior Medal of Valor by the Prescott Intertribal Warrior Society. The Distinguished Service Award was presented on behalf of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Maj. John R. Tapia, Ph.D. Chapter 608, Prescott.
