NACOG celebrates 40th anniversary
Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) was incorporated in 1975 but many programs predate the agency. NACOG is a nonprofit membership corporation representing local governments to provide a wide variety of services within the four county regions of Apache, Coconino, Navajo and Yavapai. NACOG has been a catalyst for regional planning for Northern Arizona, especially related to economic development, transportation and workforce development. In Yavapai County NACOG's Economic Workforce Division is credited for creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, providing employers millions of dollars in wage supplements and more than $5 million in economic development infrastructure investments.
Teri Drew, NACOG's Economic Workforce Development Director would like to compliment and credit the many volunteers and elected officials, who have served on the Regional Council, the Local Workforce Investment Board and the Economic Development Council during her 40-year career at NACOG.
