Obituary: Donald Klepl
Donald Klepl, 69, of Prescott, Arizona died Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Prescott. He was born Thursday, Dec. 27, 1945 to George and Katie Klepl.
Don moved to Prescott with his family in 1977, he owned a machine shop and worked as a master machinist. Prior to moving to Arizona, Don worked as a gunsmith in his own gun shop in Granada Hills, California, where he grew up with his two sisters, Kathleen and Dianne.
He and his wife, Kathy and parents, George and Katie were enthusiastic members of the Prescott Antique Auto Club; Don loved and cherished the community of friends he found in the club and the shared appreciation of all things rusty!
Don always found treasure in what others might have considered junk. He collected cars, motorcycles, engines and much more! He was a generous and adventurous soul and never allowed his physical limitations to hold him back. He was dearly loved and he will be greatly missed.
Don's children, Nora, Tammy, Becky and Matt are deeply grateful to the Prescott community for all the care and love given to Dad over the years. He had a deep love for Prescott and it is truly a great comfort to us knowing Prescott loved him back.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Katie Klepl; wife Kathy Klepl; and his sister Kathleen Gross.
He is survived by his daughters Nora Wirick, Tammy Kennedy and Rebecca Horniman; son Matt Klepl; his sister Dianne Lane; and his five grandchildren, Corey, Grant, Scott, Brooklyn and Kaelan.
Services will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Prescott Antique Auto Club, Club House, 823 Osburn St., Prescott, AZ 86301.
