Multiple injuries in pair of unrelated crashes
Two nearly simultaneous major collisions at about 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 30, sent people to the hospital.
A three-vehicle collision, on state Highway 169 near Old Cherry Road, required a helicopter and four ambulances to transport four patients; a fifth was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle, Central Yavapai Fire District spokesman Rick Chase said.
One person who was initially taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center-East was flown to a Phoenix hospital shortly after arrival.
Another crash, in the 11000 block of East Highway 69, injured a 15-year-old boy who was flown to John C. Lincoln Hospital-North in Phoenix. Two other people who were involved were taken by ambulance to YRMC.
