Ron Williams

Ron Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle died on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the age of 70.

Ron was born on Aug. 25, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the 11th and youngest child of Robert and Sophia Williams. He grew up on a farm outside of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa where he learned the importance of family and developed a strong work ethic that was with him until his last day.

Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for three years, first in Germany and then volunteered for a tour in Vietnam.

Ron married Debbie Scanlan on Nov. 14, 1976 in Santa Barbara, California. They moved to Prescott Valley in 2006.

He was an entrepreneur who opened his own print shop, Williams Printing, in Goleta, California. He worked there six days a week, Monday through Saturday. He did the yard work on Sundays. In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed fishing, golfing, spending time with family and working with his hands.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Ron is survived by his wife Debbie Williams; daughters Stephanie (Tim) Elliott of Chico, California and Amy (Kyler) Nerison of Arlington, Virginia; sisters Barbara Slocum of San Antonio, Texas and Doris (Henry) Grillet of Burlington, Washington; brothers Robert (Lela) Williams of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and Donald (Virginia) Williams of Grandview, Washington; and grandsons Collin and Cedric Elliott.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, please love your family and take care of each other the way Ron always did.

An informal service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Chapel of the Valley in Prescott Valley. A memorial in Santa Barbara on a later date will also be planned.
