It's been a few months since Alice Wallace has performed her brand of country/Americana in Prescott. And even then, those shows have been her performing solo. This month, Wallace is bringing her full band on tour for a trek across the southwest on the way to the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas, including two stops in Prescott on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 28. Wallace said that she has performed in Prescott about four times over the last two or three years. She stated that she always has a great time coming through Prescott."It's one of our favorite stops," she said. "We've made a lot of fans there, so we always make it a tour stop as we head out of California."Wallace doesn't usually tour with her full band, noting that for the most part, it isn't financially feasible to do so. She said that most tours are either her going solo or occasionally bringing her guitar player. However, Wallace said she has wanted to go to Austin for a few years and after getting the chance to do so, she felt like it was a good opportunity to bring the whole band and make some connections. She said having the whole band with her rather than just herself or with a guitarist changes everything. "There's only so much you can do when you're just one girl with a guitar, as they say," Wallace said. "It's just so much more fun and it sounds so much better when you've got that caliber of musicians playing with you."She said with the band, it makes the music exponentially better and the shows more successful; adding that she is excited to interpret all the songs in what she says is their best form. She also stated that touring with the others will make the trip to Texas and back will make the trip much more fun. Wallace also said that in the six months or so since she's been to Prescott, she has a lot of new material."We do have a lot of new material," she said. "And people in Prescott, so far, have never seen us with a whole band. I'm excited to bring the full band dynamic to Prescott."Wallace will perform at The Raven, located at 142 North Cortez Street, on Friday, March 13 at 8 p.m. She will return to perform at Black Hole Beer Company, located at 1590 Swenson St., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.For more information, visit Follow Jason on Twitter @PrescottWheels
