UPDATE - A girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been found safe in Northern Arizona.

The Amber Alert for 12-year-old Cassidy Hayes was canceled about 2 p.m. The Department of Public Safety located the victim and suspect on Highway 89 south of Page.

ORIGINAL REPORT - A girl missing from Cathedral City, California, since Sunday night was last seen Monday morning in Munds Park.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the Cassidy Hayes, 12, who left California at about 6 a.m. Sunday with her stepbrother, Michael Malloch Jr., 22, under suspicious circumstances.

They are traveling in a 2002 gold Subaru Legacy with California plate 7HYS582.

Cassidy is a 5-foot-3-inch, 112-pound, white female with red hair and hazel eyes. According to video footage, her hair has been dyed dark. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie with "port" in white lettering and blue jeans.

The suspect is a 5-foot-10-inch, 165-pound, white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black shorts with a white stripe, sunglasses and black shoes.

The two were seen at a gas station in Munds Park around 9:15 a.m. Monday. Authorities believe they may be traveling to Massachusetts.

Authorities believe they may be headed to Massachusetts. The suspect reportedly wrote a suicidal letter saying he cannot live without the victim.
