Prescott Valley Days features a fun variety of events

Prescott Valley's 37th annual Prescott Valley Days promises an exciting lineup of fun, family activities from music to main-stage entertainment - and a carnival!

The carnival kicks off Thursday, June 18 and runs through Sunday, June 21.

The parade, sponsored by the Early Bird Lions Club, begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 beginning at Florentine and Yavapai and ending at the BMO Harris Bank parking lot.

This year's theme is "Dreams Can Come True."

Immediately following the parade and prior to the carnival opening are new kids' activities outside the Event Center.

Inside, the Lonesome Valley Quilt Guild presents its Quilt Show on Saturday morning, and the Gem and Mineral show is on display beginning at 10 a.m. Fun family entertainment and demonstrations begin at 11 a.m.

A live radio remote starts at 4 p.m Saturday.

On Friday and Saturday night the Matchstick Rush Fire demonstrates their crowd-pleaser act.

The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that "The Wes Williams Band" will headline the entertainment on Saturday, June 20 taking the stage at 7 p.m.

"This band has a great blend of soul, southern rock, acoustic roots and blues, known for its amazing crowd oriented shows and pitch perfect harmonies.

"They were a past participant at Battle of the Bands and they received rave reviews and support from the crowd; they put on one fantastic show!" said chamber CEO Marnie Uhl.

On Friday, June 19 the chamber will host the ultimate "Disco Party" with "Funk Frequency Band' taking the stage at 7 p.m.

This band is northern Arizona's only 70s and 80s Funk and Disco dance band.

"The ultimate reward for me is watching people get out of their seats and on the dance floor," said vocalist Julie Ericson.

The rest of Funk Frequency consists of Michael Weight, lead and rhythm guitar and vocals, Jon Poole on drums and Neil Orlowski on keyboard.

Both bands will appear on the Main Stage across from the Prescott Valley Event Center. There is no admission charge and refreshments will be available.
