Embry-Riddle student, veteran wins scholarship

Locate Military Order of the Purple Heart Major. John R. Tapia PhD, Chapter 608 honor a Severely Wounded Warrior Kenneth Michael Blair with a $500 scholarship.

Michael is currently a student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in Engineering. He served in Iraq, where he was severely wounded May 7, 2006, with an IED in the Province of Al Anbar. Both of legs from the knee down were crush by the explosion of the IED. He was medically evacuated from Iraq to the National Naval Medical Center, Methesda in less than 24 hours where surgeries, treatment and outpatient physical therapy began. Sergeant Kenneth Michael Blair was Honorably medically retired from the Marine Corps March 31, 2011.

The MOPH Arizona Department Commander Billy Weldon presented Michael with a Purple Heart Plaque. The Prescott Intertribal Warrior Society President Larry Kimmel blessed Michael with sage/eagle feather then presented him with the Warrior Medal of Valor.
