Obituary: Elizabeth Ann Smith
Elizabeth Ann Smith was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Laurine (Nester) Mahoney and Patrick Mahoney. She passed away July 8, 2015, at the age of 75.
A highly intuitive woman, she thought to herself, "I'm going to marry that man" the first time she set eyes on Bruce T. Smith - and she did. Together they thrived for 35 years before Bruce passed in 2003.
Beth Ann brought peace, love, kindness, laughter and wisdom to countless people she touched throughout her life.
She is survived by four daughters, Brenda, Kathy, Debbie and Lauri; son Steve; sister Maureen; brother Joe; and five grandsons.
She was a master, deal-finding shopper (especially when joined at the hip to her sister "Mo") and loved to spend a day at the track. Beth Ann often said she'd told God, "Take me when you're ready for me." Some would say God listened and he did - though not before she got the chance to witness American Pharoah (the first horse to do so in 37 years) win the Triple Crown.
A Celebration of Beth Ann's life will take place at 5:15 p.m. on July 25, 2015, at her home in Prescott.
