Doris was loved by her family and friends. Her kindness and faith have always been an inspiration. We, her children, called her a saint. She has now gone home to the Lord, and though we miss her, her life has shown us how to treat our children, and all those with whom we come into contact. It is our prayer that those who are reading this may understand that she was a spectacular woman, the first woman to graduate from Texas A & I with a degree in Chemical Engineering, also being the first in her family to receive a degree in higher education. She went on to marry and have four children, then to achieve her Master of Library Science from Wayne State University, and to work in the public school system for both the State of Michigan and the State of Arizona until retirement. Doris was a member of the Library Board for the City of Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Additionally, she volunteered in community events for local churches as supported her faith.
In honor of her faith and our love for our Mother, Proverbs 31:28 is appropriate, "Her children rise up and call her blessed."
Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
