Mortimer Farms hosts neighborhood dinner Aug. 1

A benefit dinner for Yavapai Food Bank takes place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Mortimer Family Farms, located on the southeast corner of Highways 69 and 169 in Dewey-Humboldt.

The Farm kicks off the fall season with a farm fresh dinner of barbecue beef and/or chicken sandwiches, fresh picked veggies, dessert from Grandma's Kitchen, plus ice tea and lemonade. Tickets are $4 per person, children 3 and younger free.

Mortimer's asks that each farm friend attending bring one non-perishable food item (per person) to donate to the Yavapai Food Bank. RSVP to reserve a seat by Wednesday, July 29, to cjernegan@hotmail.com.

Mortimer Farms hosts its corn festival in August and pumpkin festival in October. They also grow a variety of other seasonal vegetables on 300 acres, as well as grass-fed beef. The Country Store is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. My Grandma's Kitchen is open for lunch, and offers sandwiches and homemade desserts.
