Mountain Institute drafting, design student lands job
Drafting and Design is a popular Central Campus program at Mountain Institute JTED. However, Chino Valley High School also hosts MIJTED's Satellite Program in Drafting and Design. Cole Driescher, who will be a senior in the fall at Chino Valley High School, has landed a job with Michael Taylor Architects, Inc.
An intern drafter will typically spend a fair amount of the summer just getting up to speed in order to operate in the Michael Taylor Architects office, and learning the processes of what they do. Cole was able to bridge that gap immediately and has already begun producing drawings of a high caliber that have value to the firm. MIJTED and Cole's drive provided him with a set of skills that are beyond what a company would see from most young drafters. Cole is professional, enthusiastic, and has a willingness to learn.
Michael Taylor, owner and MIJTED governing board member, stated: "The local community is starving for a skilled and trained workforce. Mountain Institute JTED is producing those individuals and Cole is the proof."
This past week Cole dropped off his first complete project to the City of Prescott. Cole has been enjoying this opportunity to work for Michael Taylor Architects, Inc. and will continue to work there when school resumes in the fall.
