'Healthy Prescott Business Awards' highlight chamber's annual meeting

Thursday, Jan. 29 at 4 pm is the date and time for this year's Annual Meeting of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. Highlighting the program will be the announcement and presentation of the first-time Healthy Prescott Business Awards, honoring and recognizing some of the top local businesses in Prescott. These awards are being sponsored by Yavapai Regional Medical Center.

The annual meeting will take place at Yavapai College's Performing Arts Center and will also feature comments from 2014's chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Ed Walsh (Lamb Motors) and from 2015's chairman, Steve Walker (Yavapai College Foundation). A lavish buffet will follow the business portion of the meeting.

Reservations for the annual meeting, sponsored by Foothills Bank and BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona, are now being taken at the Chamber. You can sign up online through the Chamber's website, www.prescott.org. Admission to the meeting and reception is $25 per person, and you may pay on-line using Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. Special offer: buy nine tickets at the regular price of $25 each and receive a 10th ticket free!

The announcement of recipients of the Healthy Prescott Business Awards will highlight the program. "It's our spin on awards that recognize businesses for all that they do in the community," said Chamber CEO David Maurer. There will be awards for the best new business; the best established business, the best long-time business, the best locally-owned business, the best company to work for, and the most philanthropic business. Each category has three potential awardees based on the number of employees.

The Prescott Area Young Professionals, representing the 21 - 40 age group of business men and women, will also take part in the program, announcing their "Visionary Award" recipients at the meeting. Each year, PAYP recognizes up to ten young men and women that work in the quad-cities area and are potential future leaders here. This is the fourth year of the Visionary Awards program.
