Chew on This: More than pizza, delivery service ensures variety

There it is again. That insatiable desire to eat. But the will to cook, or find the keys and drive somewhere is pretty much nonexistent. And pizza just doesn't sound good. The question to that conundrum has finally been answered with Bon Appetit Dine in Delivery.

Started by Trevor and Cynderella McDonald in October 2013, Trevor said dine in delivery services are really big in bigger cities. And he had wanted to start one when he lived in Durango, Colorado.

"But we moved down here and there wasn't anything like this," Trevor said. "The population definitely allows it to happen. And so I started it."

Since Bon Appetit Dine In Delivery hasn't been around for very long, there aren't that many Internet reviewers. However, the lone reviewer on Yelp.com has given it five stars.

"It is very easy to order, lots of restaurants to choose from, delivery was fast and the driver was friendly. I recommend this."

Trevor said he went to different restaurants and got contracts with them to start ordering their food. At first, he had five and now, he has around 11, including Blimpie Sub Shop, Casa Alvarez Mexican Food, Tara Tai Cuisine and Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. And he's looking to add more. Trevor said Bon Appetit will start delivering for Prescott Junction in about a week and there are a couple restaurants still considering, such as Texas Roadhouse and Nastee Dogs.

He's also trying to find a replacement Chinese food place after China Buffet closed down. "People really requested Chinese food," Trevor said. However, the most-ordered-from restaurant has been Genovese's Italian Restaurant.

There's also grocery delivery, drug store delivery and party platters for some of the restaurants.

Trevor said the delivery radius goes as far east as the La Quinta Inns & Suites on Highway 69, all the way north to the airport and "pretty far up Williamson Valley ... all the way west where the houses stop from going into the forest. Pretty much the neighborhoods and then south pretty far too."

Bon Appetit Dine In Delivery has a minimum order amount of $15. Trevor said the reason the minimum exists is because he has to make it worthwhile in terms of gas. There are also delivery fees. Within five miles of downtown Prescott is $4.99 and everywhere else ranges from $7.99 to $9.99 depending on location. There's also 18 percent gratuity factored into the final bill.

Trevor noted the variety of people who order from Bon Appetit Dine In Delivery. He said there are a lot of offices that have only 30-minute lunches, so they order in. Or there are couples that want to have a better meal than pizza, but don't want to go through the hassle of eating out or cooking. Or there are students. "I've had an order of 10 students studying," he said. "I delivered a big order for them."
