Obituary: Norma Ann Lancaster-Phillips

Norma passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2015, in Dewey, Arizona, 14-days after her 91st birthday.

Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Arthur Moore and Ada Lancaster, she grew up in the Ohio Valley. She moved to Phoenix in 1950 and obtained her cosmetology license in 1955. Norma owned and operated successful beauty salons in Phoenix and Prescott.

In 1996, she and her husband retired to Humboldt, where they enjoyed gardening, cooking for friends and relatives and caring for their two dogs and three cats. Norma loved cooking, dancing and working on crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Phillips and her youngest son Alan Lycett. Norma is survived by her eldest son from her first marriage, Larry Lycett, his wife Patsy and son Michael.

She chose to have a simple cremation without any services. Donations may be offered in her name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Alzheimer's Association.
