After 365 days of 2015, the New Year is here and it's finally 2016. As the year begins, some might want to welcome it with a drink. That's quite possible with so many places in the quad-city area, from Whiskey Row to Prescott Valley's Entertainment District, offering some special libations for the new year.
Here's a few of them:
Prescott Brewing Company, 130 W. Gurley St. is bringing back its Raven Maniac imperial stout. Containing 10 percent alcohol, it features coffee and chocolate flavors and is very malty. It will be featured all month long, Brett Helzer said.
"It's our big release every year," he said. "People always look forward to it every year."
Raven Maniac is $4.75 for a 10 oz. glass and $24 for a growler.
Yet, if class is what's sought in a drink, then Hassayampa Inn has some classy drinks. One is the Prescott Sidecar. It has Captain Morgan spiced rum, Grand Marnier, lemon juice and simple syrup and is served with an orange twist and a dash of cinnamon, $10
However, if you are looking for a drink with style a little farther downtown, head to Bin 239, 239 N. Marina St. There are nearly 100 different wines to choose from, most of which can be ordered by the glass. Bin 239 also has a sangria called the Bingria, containing wine served in a pitcher with fruit alongside a wine glass full of ice. Originally meant to be a summer drink five years ago, it was so popular that it became available year round, $10.
Or if you want to get out of Prescott and spend some time in Prescott Valley, there's always Cork & Cuisine located in the Entertainment District, 2985 Centre Court. Owner Sherri Cook has created what she calls the Corkscrew, her version of a screwdriver. It contains vodka, blood orange juice and Triple Sec, $8.
But if a drink and some buffalo wings sound more appetizing, head next door to Buffalo Wild Wings. For the month of January, the restaurant is featuring top shelf Long Island iced tea, bourbon iced tea and Big Island iced tea as well as Michelob Ultra as its beer of the month and Sam Adams Boston as its featured beer for the month.
