Man found shot to death in street in Prescott Valley

PRESCOTT VALLEY - A man was found shot to death in the street in the 2700 block of Meadowview Drive Tuesday, Dec. 15, and police said the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Police responded to a shooting call at about 3 p.m. and found the 67-year-old victim had shot himself in the head, Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Jake Jackson said.

"Initial investigation revealed that the male subject had left his nearby residence and shot himself after having difficulties with a recent medical procedure," Jackson said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"A trauma intervention specialist and victim service advocate responded to the scene to assist the family of the decedent," Jackson said. "The holidays can be a difficult for families that have experienced tragic loss or people that suffer from depression."
