Plane makes hard landing in Rimrock
Rimrock -A small plane made a hard landing here on Dec. 13, causing serious damage to the aircraft but no injuries to the pilot.
The 62-year-old pilot was landing his LanceAir 360 at Rimrock Airport about 11:45 a.m., sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said, when he touched down "with enough force to cause the landing gear to fail, resulting in the plane sliding approximately 150 yards before coming to rest."
The pilot was unhurt.
The airplane sustained damage to the wings, underbelly, propeller, and the landing gear, which completely collapsed, D'Evelyn said.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
