Chino Valley gets $1.6 million grant for business park
The Economic Development Administration awarded a $1.6 million grant to Chino Valley to expand infrastructure at the proposed Old Home Manor business park, Development Services Director Ruth Mayday announced at Tuesday's Town Council meeting.
The money is to be used primarily for water and sewer extensions which the town hopes will attract businesses to the area.
"This will provide some ready sites along the west side of Old Home Manor so that we can develop an industrial park and attract some jobs," Mayday said in a news release. "We've had a lot of interest but because we don't have any infrastructure we aren't able to land any job creators. This is critical for the growth of the community."
Old Home Manor is 880 acres of land east of town 1.25 east of Highway 89 on Perkinsville Road. Most property east of Highway 89 relies on wells and septic tanks, the major exception being the Safeway store, according to Mayor Chris Marley.
