Obituary: Glenn R. Alvis
Glenn R. Alvis joined his Lord and Savior on April 21, 2015. Glenn passed away in the comfort of his residence at the Pioneer Home.
Glenn was born on March 20, 1924 in Bristow, Oklahoma and moved to Arizona in 1938 at the age of 14 with his family. He retired from Arizona Public Service in 1982 after 35 years of service. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, family functions and playing cards. In addition, Glenn enjoyed living at the Pioneer Home and while there involved himself in many activities which included calling Bingo on a regular basis.
Glenn is survived by his son Roy Alvis; granddaughter Connie (Randy) Evers; grandson Justin (Cathy) Alvis; great-granddaughters Jessica Evers, Krista Evers, Elah Alvis and Samantha Jeffcoat; great-great-grandson William Evers; niece Leah Richwine (Jeff Gavroy); and nephew Arthur Richwine. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Clara.
A memorial service to celebrate Glenn's life will be at 10 a.m. on April 30, 2015, at the Pioneer Home. Glenn is to be buried at the Pioneer Home Cemetery.
