PRESCOTT VALLEY - A 39-year-old Parker man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after a fatal traffic crash Saturday, April 18, according to a Prescott Valley Police Department spokesman.
Joel Brandon Neider was driving while impaired, Sgt. Scott Stebbins said, when he crossed the center line on Highway 69 and drove his Ford F-350 pickup into oncoming traffic at Fain Road at about 10:30 p.m.
He struck a Chevy Impala driven by Ronald Darnell, 69, of Dewey, head on, Stebbins said, and Darnell was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Neider was flown to John C. Lincoln hospital in Phoenix in serious condition.
He was released Tuesday, April 21 and arrested.
Neider was charged with vehicular manslaughter, seven counts of felony endangerment, three counts of DUI, and felony criminal damage, Stebbins said.
He was booked into the Camp Verde jail on a $15,000 bond.
