Couple arrested after allegedly assaulting cops
PRESCOTT VALLEY - A couple was arrested at 2:30 in the morning Wednesday, April 15, after police, responding to a complaint of a couple screaming at each other, allegedly attacked the officers, according to a PVPD spokesman
Police found Jesse L. Dresden, 27, and Trista A. Lewis, both of Prescott Valley, sitting in a ditch near Spouse Drive and Parent Road, arguing, Sgt. Scott Stebbins said. He added that they were "highly intoxicated."
"While the officers were trying to identify the couple and peacefully resolve the problem, (Dresden) head-butted one officer and (Lewis) kicked another officer in the groin," Stebbins said.
They were booked into the Camp Verde jail on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct per domestic violence. Lewis was also charged with assuming the identity of another, a felony, because she gave police another person's identity as her own. Lewis had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Prescott on an obstruction of justice charge.
The officers "suffered relatively minor injuries," Stebbins said.
