Chanel Tissot, age 27 from Prescott Valley, graduated in December 2014 with a doctorate in Nuclear Engineering. Chanel attended Yavapai College and Mesa Community College before receiving her B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University and her M.S. and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Maryland. Her dissertation work involved using ionizing radiation to synthesize unique materials for the extraction of uranium from seawater.
Chanel is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and lives in the Washington, D.C. area. Her father, Craig Tissot, currently resides in Prescott Valley.
