Obituary: Robert Victor Walters Jr.
Robert Victor Walters Jr., 48, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, in Anthem, Ariz.
He leaves his true love of more than 30 years, Laura Walters; his children, Nathaniel and his wife Hallie; Nicholas and his wife Samantha; and Kendra and her husband Casey; his grandchildren, Alexis, Colby, Madison, Ethan, and Tayler; his father, Robert Victor Walters Sr.; his brother, Randy Jo Walters; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Born and raised in Mt. Zion, Ill., Rob graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1983 and moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in December of 2001. He was a successful businessman, and over time, his skill and expertise in the corporate world led to an extraordinary reputation. He was also an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff with both the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, and recently, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office North Valley Posse, where he reached the rank of training officer.
Rob had an extreme love for baseball and was a lifelong fan of his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. His passion is something he shared with his family and friends throughout the years. He loved coaching baseball and was part of many programs ranging from Little League to college.
In death, he joins his mother, Nancy Louise Smith, his grandmother, Alma Mae Pierce, and his grandfather, Thomas Richard Pierce.
Visitation will be held on Sept. 22, 2014, at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Church, located at 2825 West Rose Canyon Circle, Anthem, AZ 85086, beginning at 9 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. A private burial will occur later in the week, with Rob being laid to rest at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Cave Creek, Ariz. A vigil will be held at St. Rose on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, in the evening.
