Highlands Center's Wander the Wild annual fundraiser is set for Sept. 28
Adventure-themed live auction, dinner benefits youth nature education
The sixth annual Wander The Wild, the Highlands Center for Natural History's biggest yearly fundraiser, will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at Talking Rock Ranch from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
This outdoor and adventure-themed auction is the center's main fundraising event, responsible for providing hundreds of children with nature-based learning experiences, said Dave Irvine, executive director.
Wander the Wild also is a great party, featuring live music, a delicious dinner, and includes wines from Painted Lady Vineyards in Skull Valley, and Page Springs Cellars, he said. "Feed your sense of adventure by bidding on exotic travel and experience items, such as an exciting Windjammer Cruise, a six-days and nights, South African photo Safari, $4,950 value, and a Cabin in Breckenridge, Colorado for one week, value $1,500."
Nature-inspired local art and related travel and educational adventures featured, to be auctioned by local favorite Jacy Lee. All proceeds benefit the center's youth education programs, serving more than 5,000 children annually with quality hands-on outdoor education, developed to introduce them to the natural wonders of the Central Arizona Highlands, Irvine said.
Tickets are $90 each, or $660 for a table of eight. Call the Highlands Center for reservations and information at 928-776-9550.
