Funds raised by violet campaign will help local wounded veterans

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Walmart on Gail Gardner in Prescott, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 608, Major John R. Tapia PhD., will be giving out violets for donations in support of local severely wounded warriors. Marine Corps Devil Pups, a youth leadership program, will raise money for Shining Star electric wheelchairs for disabled veterans and Mothers' Medals of Honor, given to mothers who have lost sons or daughters in combat.
