Police searching for armed robber who hit gas station

PRESCOTT - Police are searching for a man they said robbed the Woody's gas station at knife-point Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

At about 10:30 a.m., a man went into the business in the 500 block of White Spar Road and demanded the clerk give him all the store's money, Prescott Police Lt. Ken Morley said Monday.

"The man displayed a knife and handed the clerk a bag to put the money in," Morley said. "The suspect took the cash from the clerk and fled the scene on foot."

The suspect was wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt with an "Alpine Stars" brand logo on the front, black pants and bright baby blue colored tennis shoes. The suspect covered his face with a cloth or bandana and was wearing sunglasses, Morley said.

Morley asked anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Prescott Police Department at (928) 777-1920, or to call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 to leave an anonymous tip.
