Obituary: Hazle F. Wood

Mrs. Wood

Mrs. Wood

Hazle F. Wood, 93 1/2, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away Oct. 9, 2014, to be with her Lord. She was born in Manteno, Ill., on March 11, 1921, to Henry Clay McGlasson and Lulu Pearl Leniing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Robert Wood of Cherokee Village, Ark., and her brother Oscar McGlasson of Beloit, Wis. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Mason of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and Donna York (Claud) of Springville, Calif.; and a daughter-in-love Mona Rapsilber of Prescott Valley, Ariz. Hazle also has four grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren.

All through her life, she has had a great love for her Lord and people. She never said a bad word about anyone and people were drawn to her. God blessed her with artistic talents and many of her paintings grace the walls in homes throughout the United States. She also worked for Laubach Literacy International helping people read and write English. This brought her great satisfaction. She and Curt were very active in the Community of Christ Church. She volunteered for Goodwill Industries and touched many lives there. Hazle and Curt retired and moved to Cherokee Village, Ark. and enjoyed their years of retirement. Hazle's first love was her Lord Jesus Christ followed by family and friends. She recently had been attending PV United Methodist Church, and was welcomed and loved by her new friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all she met. She will be greatly missed, but we are comforted to know we will see her again someday.

In lieu of flowers please contribute to Prescott Valley Senior Center (CASA), 9360 E. Manzanita Circle, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 or your favorite charity.

Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2014, at PV United Methodist Church, 8944 E. Sommer Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz.
