Bradshaw boys cross country takes 2nd at Glendale four-way

The Bears' boys' team Alex Villagran captured second place individually, during a four-way meet Wednesday in Glendale where Liberty won the meet with 46 points followed by Bradshaw (49), Sunnyslope (57) and Apollo (65).

Along with Villagran, the Bears placed four runners in the top 10, including David Carillo (6th place, 18:50), Ricky Ayala (7th, 18:52), and David Villagran (9th, 19:08).

The girls' team was without a couple runners, and settled for a fourth-place finish (103 points) behind Liberty (20), Apollo (48) and Sunnyslope (72).

Maria Gonzalez ran in ninth place for the Bears with a time of 24:24. Her teammate Elsie Estrada, in her first race of the season, placed 20th (26:47).

Next up for Bradshaw is the annual Desert Twilight Invitational this Friday in Casa Grande.
