Republican Women of Prescott pay tribute to local veterans

The Republican Women of Prescott will honor Prescott's veterans on Nov. 18 in an all-out tribute to the men and women whose service has preserved freedom. The are invited to wear their uniforms, medals and ribbons, and will receive a complimentary lunch.

The tribute includes members of the VFW Post 6 presenting The Colors with a special performance by the Veterans Memorial Piper Corps and KYCA reporter Paul T. Morris, who has written and recorded two songs for veterans.

Their first speaker will be Quang Nguyen who emigrated from South Vietnam at the age of 12 after the communist takeover there in 1975, and is currently the producer of Patriot Network TV on YouTube.com. He calls the Vietnam Veterans his Founding Fathers.

The second speaker is wounded Iraqi War veteran Tim Ramos. Most recently, Ramos has been the recipient of a track wheelchair through Bill O'Reilly and the Independence Fund. Ramos is active in working to combat veteran suicide and is an ambassador for the Independence Fund.

The event is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Prescott Resort, 1500 E. Highway 69. Reservations can be made by calling 778-0235 or 778-7157.
