Augie's, 1721 E. Highway 69, as a relatively new restaurant, continues to up the ante.
Owner Augie Perry said this week he has hired a new chef, Joel Sugahara, who comes to Augie's restaurant with over 20 years of experience creating some of the finest cuisine in the Prescott area including Hassayampa Club, Talking Rock, Prescott Resort and the Manzanita Grill.
"We are going to enhance what we're already doing, with special culinary treats, methods and presentations," Perry said. "Joel comes to us with a wealth of experience and following in the Prescott area, and look forward to improving the menu."
Perry said Augie's is "maintaining the American food that we started with, just enhancing it with higher taste profiles, ... particularly with how foods are combined and amazing presentation."
Augie's, which remains very competitively priced, is located in the Frontier Village Shopping Center, and serves American classics for lunch and dinner daily.

Have you noticed the absence of cows on East Gurley Street? The Farm Fresh Market, which Councilman Charlie Arnold started in December 2012 and sold one year later, closed this spring.
Arnold said the life-sized cows, which had been perched on the business' roof, were sent back to a friend in Nevada from whom Arnold had been leasing them.
No market, no cows. No kidding!
