Visiting Poet Laureate
Arizona's first-ever poet laureate Alberto Alvaro Rios signs a copy of his book, "The Iguana Killer," during a visit to The Peregrine Book Company near downtown Prescott on Wednesday. Rios was named Arizona first poet laureate last year by the Arizona Commission on the Arts in conjunction with Gov. Jan Brewer's office. He visited two locations during his Prescott trip April 30 - the Peregrine Book Company and Prescott College - where he read selections of his work and signed his books.
