Attempted carjacking gets man arrested
On Sunday, at about 3 a.m., Prescott Valley Police responded to an attempted robbery and carjacking at a convenience store parking lot at Viewpoint and Highway 89A.
Ryan Lee Musgrove, 28, asked a 23-year-old female who was in her parked vehicle for a ride to Cottonwood. When she declined Musgrove showed his handgun and insisted that she give him the vehicle. The woman yelled to a friend who was nearby and Musgrove left the area on foot, according to a press release from Prescott Valley Police spokesman Brandon Bonney.
Police found Musgrove under the overpass for Highway 89A at Viewpoint Drive, took him into custody and disarmed him. Musgrove admitted his involvement in the offense to officers.
Musgrove was booked into the Yavapai County Jail for two felony counts - one count of armed robbery and one count of disorderly conduct with a weapon.
