PRESCOTT - The tradition continues for a ninth year in downtown Prescott, as Miller Lite once again sponsors the annual Pub Crawl.

St. Patrick's Day is on a Monday this year, but that won't stop the crawlers, who have from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. to have a card stamped at each of 13 bars and restaurants before ending at Matt's Saloon.

The first 500 who do will get a T-shirt.

There's no charge to enter, but participants do need to register at Murphy's Bar and Grill, 201 N. Cortez, between 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and get a card to be punched at the various locations.

Local radio stations KVRD and Q102.9 will also be at Matt's Saloon to broadcast and hand out prizes.

And for those who do end up crawling in, free taxi rides home will be available from 5 p.m. until midnight from Prescott's Dial-a-Ride.

At Hooligan's, the Celtic Cowboys, Arizona's Premier Irish Rock band, will play all four days, from Friday to Monday, in honor of the St. Patrick's holiday, and there's no cover.

The Drunken Lass Irish Pub will have Pride Through Strife, a band from Mesa, on Friday; Saturday, on stage will be Avondale band 1967; Monday will feature Terry Wheeler starting at 4 p.m.

Celtic Crossings in Frontier Village also has a full weekend of live entertainment. Friday night, Karl Jones -"a Dublin import to Arizona" - plays a solo gig at 7 p.m.; Saturday will include bagpipers and giveaways all day; Sunday, pipers will play at 12:30 and then Irish dancers perform from 2 until 4. Monday, pipers play at noon; Jones is back from 1 until 3; there's a costume contest at 5 p.m, and then Jones and his band, Dublin Soul, will be on stage from 6 to 10 p.m.
