The Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake event has the ball rolling throughout the months of March and April. More than 225 teams have already raised enough money to match 160 boys and girls facing adversity in our community to Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Couples and Family Matches.

The Bowl For Kids' Sake event (BFKS) is a yearly tradition to help raise awareness of the growing need of Littles being matched to Bigs throughout Yavapai County. Currently, there are over 200 Littles-in-Waiting and it costs $1,000 a year to pair each match and provide support.

This year's BFKS event featured themed bowling, including Wild West, '80s Bowl and Late Night Jammie Bowl. Longtime bowlers even created their own themes including a Hawaiian Luau and Dr. Seuss cosplay.

There is still time to pledge. An Arizona taxpayer can donate up to $200 each year to Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters and get it all back as a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit. You don't have to itemize and you can still take your public school credit.
