Edythe Marjorie Harstine

Edythe Marjorie Harstine, 79, died March 3, 2014 at home with her daughter by her side. She was cared for during her final days by both her son and daughter. Edythe was born Nov. 19, 1934 in Canada to John and Ida (Ishenberg) Sumner.

She is survived by her son Allen (Sherri) Harstine of Vancouver, Wash.; her daughter Karen Ludwick of San Antonio, Texas; her son-in-law Brad Ludwick of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren Scott of Beaverton, Ore., Garrett of Vancouver, Wash., Kristin of Portland, Ore. and David of Phoenix, Ariz. She is also survived by her brothers Bill (Liz) Sumner, Bob (Deanna) Sumner and Elviss (Connie) Sumner of Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada; her sisters Louise Kuharski of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Norma De Balinhard of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada, and Marcy (Bruce) Jackson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Donald A. Harstine; her parents; and her sister Marie Wilson.

Edythe and her husband Donald built their dream home, retired and moved to Prescott Valley in 2001. Edythe loved spending time with her family, friends and neighbors, and was proudest of her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, 8480 E. Valley Road, Prescott Valley. Edythe will be reunited with her husband for eternity at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix during a private family burial Wednesday March 12, 2014.
