Among the 39 Arizona high school and college football scholar-athletes recently honored by The Valley of the Sun Chapter of the National Football Foundation on March 1 in Scottsdale was Prescott High football's Willy Andrews.

Andrews was selected as a finalist for the foundation's "Shaw Courage Award" in consideration of numerous personal-family adversities and difficulties that he has endured. Despite many obstacles he has maintained a solid 3.795 GPA. He is a three-year Air Force R.O.T.C. member and Group Flight Commander, and is President of the PHS Peer Assistance & Leadership Club. He is a Math Club member, and a drama program participant, and also a Questbride Scholarship Finalist.

Andrews received All Division 2 Section 3 1st Team offensive lineman honors this past fall and was named to The Daily Courier's All Courier 1st Team. He was selected as a senior team captain in recognition of his leadership and work ethics.

Andrews plans to major in chemistry at either Tufts University, the University of California-San Diego or Macalester College, and plans on a post-graduate degree.
