Just after 9 a.m. Thursday, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Kachina Place and Highway 69 in Prescott Valley.

The wreck between a small pickup truck and a commercial vehicle pulling a trailer caused a small backup as northbound traffic on Highway 69 was restricted to one lane.

According to Prescott Valley Police Department spokesman Brandon Bonney, the small pickup veered into the oncoming traffic lane and sideswiped the trailer of the dump truck. The driver of the pickup was airlifted to John C. Lincoln North Mountain with possibly serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
