Fair Start, a project of the Coalition for Compassion and Justice, provides school supplies for children from low-income families. CCJ provided almost 1,200 children, grades K-12, with filled backpacks in 2013. Supplies needed by July 26 include backpacks, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, glue sticks and bottles, colored markers, colored pencils, Number 2 pencils, black, blue and red pens, rulers, erasers, water color paints, highlighters, crayons, scissors, binder paper, pencil sharpeners, dry-erase markers, 3-ring binders and dividers, pencil bags, calculators, protractors and tissues.
