PRESCOTT VALLEY- Police have arrested a man they say was involved the in theft of vehicle batteries and parts in multiple burglaries.
John C. Gross, 31, of Dewey, was arrested on July 15 after selling items to a parts recycler from two burglaries, PVPD Commander Art Askew said.
Parts later identified as having been taken in a June auto parts business burglary showed up at the recycler, he said.
Then, in early July, the same parts business was burglarized again, and on the same day a suspect that police said was Gross showed up at the recycler again and sold some of the parts that had been stolen, Askew said.
Two days later, Gross brought in more items taken in the burglary, Askew said.
He was arrested based partly on evidence from surveillance photos, he said.
Gross was booked into the Camp Verde jail on charges of burglary and trafficking in stolen property.
Detectives are looking into other possible suspects as well as the possibility of other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Phil Munchinsky at 772-5143.
