Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney received his promotion to Lieutenant Tuesday, July 1, during an afternoon reception at the police department.

Bonney's four-year-old daughter, Reagan, pinned a new badge upon his uniform with the assistance of his wife, Amy.

Commander Art Askew described Bonney's years with the department that began in 1996. Bonney started out as a patrol officer and received a promotion to Sergeant in 2005.

In 2009, he moved to the administration end and in the years in between, served as a bike patrol and school resource officer.

In addition, Bonney works as a NARTA instructor and the primary S.W.A.T. negotiator.

"I'm really excited to take on this new assignment, with its new challenges," Bonney said.
