Gallery Guide: Week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1

Prescott's 4th Friday Art Walk - beginning at 5 p.m. On the Fourth Friday of every month nearly 20 Prescott art galleries remain open late. Visitors and local residents can experience an evening of fun, conversation, food, music and art! For event information, visit or on Facebook at The following galleries will be open for the Dec. 26 art walk (some closed due to holiday): 'Tis Gallery, Ian Russell Gallery, Arts Prescott, Mountain Spirit Co-op, The Beastro, Random Art, Hassayampa Inn, Thumb Butte Distillery, The Huckeba Gallery and Van Gogh's Ear.


Bronzesmith Fine Art Gallery and Foundry, 7331 E. 2nd St., Prescott Valley, 772-2378. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Foundry tours are available by appointment at 11 a.m. on Thursdays for $10 per person.

Krieger-Marcusen Gallery, 110 S. Montezuma, Suite F, Hotel St. Michael's Alley, 778-4900. Clay, paintings, jewelry and wood by local artists Heath Krieger, Cathy Krieger and Richard Marcusen. New works by Steve Smith (wood) and plein air oil paintings by Bill Anton.

Mountain Artists Guild & Gallery, 228 N. Alarcon St., 776-4009, Master's Gallery is exhibiting "New Works by the Masters" - Betty Carr, Pat Lambrecht-Hould, Doug Miley, Doug Oliver, Dorothy Ray, Chris Saper, and G. Eric Slayton until Jan. 6. The gallery will be closed for the Christmas holiday until Jan. 4.

Phippen Museum of Western Art, 4701 Highway 89 North, 778-1385, "Click - the West through the Lens" show and sale runs through Feb. 22, featuring the photography of 17 of America's finest photographers of the West.

Prescott Valley Art Guild, Good Samaritan Center, 3380 N. Windsong Road, 775-4989. Featured artists Frank Cuva (digital photography) and Carol Holloway (oils); the show runs until mid-January. Guild members' works also are on display at Windsong Villas, 3386 N. Windsong Drive, Prescott Valley, through mid-January.

Smoki Museum, 147 N. Arizona Ave., 445-1230, The exhibit, "Between Worlds," features the artistry of Peterson Yazzi, a contemporary Navajo artist from Greasewood Springs, Arizona. The Navajo culture and personal life experience are the foundation of Peterson's work. He strives to maintain his culture through his paintings that "go beyond just being a pretty picture."

'Tis Art Center and Gallery, 105 S. Cortez St., 775-0223, In the mezzanine gallery, "A Strand of Fiber to a Grain of Wood" fiber art by Jo Manginelli and wood assemblage and mixed media by Anne Legge through Dec. 30. In the main gallery, "Winter Photography Show" Dec. 26 through Jan. 20. Artists and photographer reception tonight, Dec. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with Prescott's 4th Friday Art Walk.

Van Gogh's Ear, 156 S. Montezuma St., 776-1080, Fine art and craft fill the 3,400 square feet in the historic Sam Hill Hardware store on Whiskey Row. Representing exceptional contemporary works of wall art, ceramics, glass, wood, wearable art and much more by over 70 artists.

Yavapai College Art Gallery, Building 17, 1100 E. Sheldon St., 776-2031. The "Art Out Loud!" exhibit includes select works by Eric Boos, Laura Bloomenstein, Dana Cohn, Cindy DeCecco and Steve Mason - art instructors sharing their fresh, bold approaches to familiar and new mediums and techniques. Works include oil on canvas, metal and wood sculpture, giclee prints, painted plywood sculpture and dye-infused aluminum - through Saturday, Jan. 3. Reception today, Dec. 26, in conjunction with the Prescott Art Walk, 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshments served.
