COTTONWOOD - The seventh edition of Joe Neri's popular Holiday Blues Revue will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Old Town Center for the Arts.
This annual event is known for its "blues-ified" holiday music and holiday blues music, always performed by some of the best musicians in the area and always intended to bring some foot-stompin' holiday cheer to all.
This year two popular local bands - Blues Dawg and Green Light - will share the stage, performing both original songs and holiday classics, separately and together (that's right, both bands on stage at the same time!), for a fun evening of holiday entertainment.
In the holiday spirit of giving, this concert will benefit the Yavapai Food Council, a local 501c3 organization committed to feeding the hungry throughout all of Yavapai County. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring donations of any shelf-stable foods.
Blues Dawg has been a blues staple in Northern Arizona for the past decade, steeped in the traditions of American blues and roots music. The band features Joe Neri on guitar and vocals, Bo Wilson on guitar, Duane Ewing on sax, Hutch Hutchinson on bass and vocals, and Gino Romeo on drums.
Green Light has been wowing increasingly large audiences since its inception a couple of years ago as an original rock band, with Lesli Carroll on sax, Robin Miller on lead guitar and vocals, Chicky Brooklyn on rhythm guitar and vocals, Tommy Acosta on bass and vocals, and Mike Liebowitz on drums.
Tickets for the Holiday Blues Revue are $15 in advance general seating and $18 priority seating, and available online at www.oldtowncenter.org and www.showtix4u.com, as well at the following local ticket outlets: Desert Dancer (Cottonwood), Crystal Magic (Sedona), and The Well Red Coyote (Sedona).
