Obituary: Zeck Willie Raney
Zeck Willie Raney of Cottonwood, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014. Zeck was born on June 29, 1928, in Lonn, N.M., to Joe Willie and Tishia Evdoshia (Marchbanks) Raney.
As a young man, he fought in WWII in the Merchant Marines. Later, he did a variety of things, including working in a grocery warehouse, as a truck driver, a traveling salesman, a farmer and a backhoe operator. Zeck belonged to the Gospel of Faith Church in Ash Fork, Ariz., and he loved backhoe work, traveling and just being outdoors. Zeck was a very caring and loving husband and father and he will be greatly missed.
Zeck is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Rosalie Raney of Ash Fork; his sons, Gary Alan Raney of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Jeffery Lynn (Cathy) Raney of Ash Fork, Ariz., Phillip Kyle (Bonnie) Raney of Ash Fork, Ariz., William Troy (Kelei) Scroggins of Avondale, Ariz. and Michael Lloyd (Desiree) Scroggins of Desert Hills, Ariz.; his daughters, Sherry Rebecca (Keith) Drumheller, of Lott, Texas, and Connie Elizabeth (Garry) McDonald of Cottonwood; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at the Gospel of Faith Church, 43750 Bullock Road, Ash Fork.
