Letter: Obama alienates GOP, independents
I have followed presidential politics since the Eisenhower administration. Most of our presidents did their best to keep our country strong and safe and the greatest in the world. Until now.
Our current president is doing everything in his power to make the country weaker, both domestically and in the world. His method of governing and his radical ideology is unlike anything I have ever seen. His closest advisors are all like him, mostly from academia with no real political, military or business experience.
The thing I find most appalling, notwithstanding all of the "phony" scandals, misguided policies and suffocating regulations, are the continual attacks on the Republican Party, blaming them for his incompetence. His election resulted, not once but twice, from a large number of Republican and independent votes, not just Democrats. Yet, Barack Obama acts like he is the president of the Democratic Party, not the President of the United States of America.
I personally did not vote for him but I had hoped that once elected he would live up to his promises of transparency and inclusion and would be a leader for all the people. I was also pulling for him to succeed as the first black president. Unfortunately, in my eyes, there has never been such a divisive and inept leader.
