High Desert Heritage Museum will have a flea market on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum/tourist building at 19600 Stagecoach Trail. While there, get your raffle tickets for the Dec. 6 drawing for the sculpture "Eos, Goddess of Dawn" by Corey W. Collins, valued at $10,000. Second prize is "Agave," a 3'x3' acrylic by Conrad McAnany, valued at $750. Third prize is "Seasoned Buck" by Clifford Herstead, which is a 19" x 12" sculpture valued at $750. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25.
Cordes Lakes Days is Sept. 20, and plans are moving rapidly. There will be a walk-a-thon (contact Darlene Chamberlin at 928-632-4224), parade, vendor booths, food, games, raffles and more. Storytime at the Cordes Lakes Public Library has been suspended until further notice. The library needs a new volunteer to read to the pre-schoolers. Contact Cindy Simmons at the library at 928-632-5494 if you would be available to do this once per month.
