New fire and building codes up for review by Prescott council
PRESCOTT - An overview of the new International Building and Fire Codes will top a brief agenda for the Prescott City Council this week.
The regular council workshop will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Prescott City Hall, 201 S. Cortez St.
Council members will hear a presentation on the 2012 International Building and Fire Code, which the city and other local jurisdictions began reviewing earlier this year.
"The review process has included more than 20 public meetings, with participation by the Yavapai County Contractors Association, contractors, engineers, developers, citizens, and other governments in the region," stated a city memo.
Tuesday's presentation will include an overview of the codes that are under consideration, as well as the schedule for adoption.
In other action, the council will:
Hear a presentation from the city's Field and Facilities Services - a department comprised of 69 employees and an annual combined operating budget of about $17.7 million.
Hear a proclamation on Child Support Awareness month in August.
Hear an introduction of new businesses by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.
