Entries sought for 28th annual Territorial Capital Days Parade

The Chino Valley Lions Club and Chino Valley Lioness are now accepting entries for the 28th annual Territorial Capital Days Parade to be held on Saturday, Aug. 30.

This year's theme is "The Railroad Ties That Bind: 1884-1963 - 79 Years of Railroad History."

Parade categories include Commercial, Non-Commercial, Mounted Animal, Marching, Classic Vehicles, Classic Machinery and Not Judged. The entrance fee is $20 per entry with 1 to 5 people; for each person over 5, add $5 for a maximum entry fee of $35.

Entries are due by Friday, Aug. 22. Parade application forms can be obtained from the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce office at 175 E. Road 2 S.; by email request to; or by calling 928-636-2493.

Registration and staging for the parade will start at 8 a.m. Aug. 30 at Heritage Middle School, at the corner of Road 2 North and Road 1 West. The parade starts at 9:15 a.m. down Road 1 West, turning east on Butterfield Road, turning north on Chaparral and then turning west on Palomino Road to end at Memory Park.

Territorial Capital Days activities begin that Saturday with a Lions Club Pancake Breakfast from 6 to 11 a.m. Vendors, food, fun races and contests plus kids' activities will take place at Memory Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
